Our Somersville Cellars 2012 White Meritage was produced in two of the most prestigious appellations for white wines in the North Coast of California. This blend is 85% Sauvignon Blanc from Yorkville Highlands in Mendocino County and 15% Sémillon from Knights Valley in Sonoma County. It has a straw yellow color. The nose offers many layers of aromas like grapefruit, lime, orange blossom, dried apricot and honey. There is even a light sweet oak finish with a great acidity in the mouth. We start with a creamy round attack and a powerful mid palate for a white wine. The oak present in the wine balances the mouthfeel and adds a long finish. This medium to heavy-bodied wine is a very good tribute to both Mendocino and Sonoma Counties. This wine will develop well for the next five years.
